During a day trip to Greensboro last week to visit family and play at the Greensboro Children’s Museum, we discovered the brand new LaBauer Park in downtown. It just opened at the beginning of August and is gorgeous.
LaBauer Park is located directly across the N Church Street from the Museum. Just follow the pathway beside the Library. One of the features I loved was the fully enclosed playground. With two kids of vastly different ages and abilities, it at least gave me the reassurance we were all in the same area of the park. Just be cautious of the gate when entering or leaving the playground as it was not self-latching during our visit. So give it a quick check as you pass through.
The playground includes solid rubber and artificial turf surfaces. There is a small sandbox with plenty of toys to share. Climbing structures are scattered throughout the space – hills, balls, 2 rock walls, and ropes. Kids will also love the fun slides made of rollers. Definitely a unique design & experience.
LaBauer Park is perfect for combining with your trip to the Children’s Museum or for a visit all on its own. Bring a picnic blanket and lunch or buy one at one of the local restaurants to make a full day of it.
