North Raleigh is home to the newest kid ‘play’ cafe concept. SnickerDoodles opened last week and offers a free play area (yes, free); art space (small fee); and snacks & drinks for purchase (the cafe portion).
The main room is open and features several stations for fun – a little ‘house’ with cooking area & dolls; a transportation zone with train table, car mat, and race ramp; an assortment of dress-up clothes for girls & boys; a reading corner; etc. There are also a few tables for adults & kids to sit and enjoy their purchased* drinks & snacks.
In the back is the art space. This is separated from the play area by a gate – a great feature when you’re trying to keep your curious toddler in the play area and not sneaking off to paint. There is a small fee to use the Messy Art Studio. Worth every bit when you consider your kids can express their inner artist and someone else cleans up the mess.
SnickerDoodles is celebrating it’s Grand Opening on September, 25th from 2 – 6pm
SnickerDoodles is open Monday through Friday 10:00am – 3:00pm only for walk-in play. Other times throughout the week can be reserved for your playgroup, meeting, birthday party, etc. See their website for further details.
*Note: no outside food & drinks are allowed. SnickerDoodles allows free play in their indoor play space. Purchase of food & drinks from their mini cafe, time in the Messy Art studio, and gently used books as well as reservation fees help sustain their business. Consider one of these options or tossing a bit into the tip jar if you enjoy your visit.
