In keeping with true Mom In Chapel Hill tradition here is the inside scoop on the new Bugs exhibit at the NC Zoo. The entire family made the trek to the Zoo Sunday morning and it was a great visit! We really like going on Sunday mornings, we get there when they open at 9am, because there is hardly anyone there allowing us to see the animals and roam the trails without having to fight the crowds. I highly recommend trying the Sunday morning plan out.
The Zoo has replaced the Dinosaurs with Bugs; huge, robotic, larger than life bugs that are creepy and awesome. My 2 year old kept looking at them saying “Bug! Ewww! Squish!”, it was hilarious. My older kids loved them as well because there are funny and informative facts about the bugs for them to read and learn, an added bonus to be sure. We bought the discount package available when you enter the Zoo so we got in for $3 each, and I have to say it is well worth the price of admission.
Here are a couple shots of some of the bugs you will see:
Enjoy the Bugs at the Zoo, and watch out for the last one on the left;)
