Looking for a sweet taste of the coast without the drive? Duck Donuts known in the Outer Banks for its fresh, made-to-order donuts has just opened a second Triangle area location. A short drive to either Cary or North Raleigh, and you can get your fix.
One thing the kids will love (besides the taste, of course) is being able to watch the donuts being made. Smartly, the owners added a little step ledge to help kids get a better view.
If you want to prepare before you go, the menu is available on the website (link below). Duck Donuts currently offers 10 coating choices and 5 toppings making for a nearly limitless possibility of donut fun. We kept our first order simple with some chocolate icing, sugar coated, and cinnamon & sugar coated. I’ve heard the maple icing + bacon is a huge hit.
Take note, the Raleigh location is the only one we have personally visited and, while there are high chairs, there were only a couple of tables – completely full during our mid-afternoon visit – so you may want to plan to take your order to go.
